How much of the acid do you mix in a gallon of water? It sounds like 4 pounds of epson salt per gallon, but how about the acid? Where did you get the acid? Old or new acid? If it’s the old acid you dumped out from the battery, how did you clean up the bits of sulfate before reusing it? If you used a new acid, what type of acid did you use, and how much per gallon? Did you simply go to an auto part store to buy it? How did you discard the old acid if you did not reuse it? These questions are not to trick you, but I really want to revive my dead batteries. Also how did you get rid of the baking soda dumped off the batteries? I hope to hear from you soon. I know this clip is 5 years old. I hope you still get alerts from it to answer my questions. It would work right away, but after a day, the battery charge would go lower than previous day. In simple words: it is wasting time and it would not work. I experimented it for weeks, the result was very disappointing.

I like to wear a full face shield with my safety glasses whenever I mess with strong acids or Alkaline solutions. Acid in the eyes is bad. Lye, which is a strong alkaline (basic) will quickly blind you. (For an eye wash- Keep some baking soda when messing with acid. Keep vinegar when messing with Lye. ) Good video. Thanks

I think the green battery is a AGM (absorbed glass Matt) so it keeps most of the solution absorbed in a Matt.

OMG DRESS PROPERLY FOR HANDLING ACID. full face shield, rubber boots, Gloves (check) vinyl apron that covers your entire front, respirator, acid can absorb into your skin and basically desov you from the inside as well as the outside burns. I watched your video, then I wanted to get confirmation, of which I did. But one guy referenced your video, and went about it wrong. He ended up trying to charge the Epsom salt mixture, but didn't put the acid back in. I was yelling at the video, saying, "that's not how he did it dummy". He also neutralized the left over acid in his battery, by putting in a heavy mix of baking soda. And never rinsed it out, before putting the acid back in. And then he tried to do part of the salt solution. Lol At least he didn't bash you. Did u mix the salt water with the acid or do u put salt water only?

That mixture was explained well enough on video, but unclear was the refilling after draining and flushing the battery. Did you mix one portion of the previously drained fluid, with the H2O/epsom mixture (and if so to what ratio ?) or did you use the H2O/epsom salt mixture only?

Don't wear sandals when handling battery acid....unless you don't like your toes.

Are you supposed to leave the epsom salt there or after it fully charged should you rinse it out and get a 50/50 mix of battery acid?

Getting voltage up isn’t the issue, what is the issue is cranking amps. I’d really like to know how those batteries tested load wise after your work.

if you do a load test, I bet it will not have enough Voltage to turn the vehicle...

Baking soda is also good for neutralizing chlorine bleach splashed in the eyes. happened to me while washing dishes at my family's mexican restaurant. Quick thinking coworker grabbed a box of arm & hammer & a glass mixed up a glass full & poured it into my eye, literally sending the stinging agony down the drain. Do you not understand what volts and AMPS are? What makes you think salt water will work like 35 percent Sulfuric acid? Why would the battery manufacturers pay for Sulfuric acid if cheaper salt water would work as we.l or better?

I have a theory that if they made the plates from gold the battery would outlast you.

So, to be clear: 1. Drain the battery into a bucket. 2. Rinse battery. 3. Add epsom salt solution to the existing acid drained from the batteries. 4. Fill batteries with solution. 5. Charge. Is this correct? I'd like to try it out.

I tried epsom salt a few years ago in about 5 different batteries, and it definitely made them work, but after a couple of months they all just deteriorated and failed completely in the end.

Not one of those batteries will be useful. This video is just misleading. Charging something to 12V doesnt mean it has any capacity. Never trust a guy in flip flops.

Jake you don't need to spend time explaining how to protect yourself with batteries , they not smart enough to know about batteries have no place working with them. Ever try putting NU-SALT , big differance.

In college, my car battery was pretty much dead. I put an aspirin in each of the cells and a few hours later, there was enough power to turn over and start my 4 cylinder car. I was amazed.

Hi your incomplete you made 1 gallon of Epson salt water and then put it together with the old sulfuric acid then filled up the batteries.thatsxa gal extra liquid. How did you get it all back in ..or just filled until full and had a gal of mix leftover ?
